Sharing New Tattoo News
Before you decide to get a tattoo, check out Tattoo Me Now. It's got something like 10,000 tattoos and complete member forums for tat lovers like you.
I came across a post the other day written by a mother/blogger updating their readers about their new tattoo.
It reminded me about one of the things I’ve always found interesting about tattoos – the way that people are happy to show them off. Even though it’s on their body, people aren’t shy about their new tattoos – most are extremely happy about it, and want to share it with the world.
If I were to ask a random reader of this blog to show me a photo of their lower back, they’d probably freak out and think I was nuts. But if I asked a random reader of this blog to show me a photo of their tattoo, they’d likely whip out their smartphone, take a photo, send it over, and provide me with a description of why they got the tattoo, the process, etc.
What this shows, to me, is the amount of pride that people have in their own tattoos, and I think that’s one of the reasons that I find them such an interesting art form. People aren’t even this proud of their paintings, sketches, or sculptures. But when it comes to their tattoo – even if it’s on a private place on their body – they’re overjoyed to share. I like that a lot.
